The DRX9000 is likely to be the most commercialized and best advertised decompression traction system on the market. Unfortunately it is also one of the most limited systems in the treatment options available. Because of the significant limitations we chose the KDT Neuro-flex Decompression Traction System due to it's enhanced features.
1.
The KDT Neuro-Flex system allows for comfortable patient positioning in the supine, prone, or side lying positioning. Whatever direction the disc protrusion is oriented, the KDT Neuro-flex can appropriately handle the situation.
The DRX9000 only allows for the patient to be positioned supine
(on their back). This is a major disadvantage to many of the newer
more modernized units such as the Neuro-Flex.. The reason this feature
is so important is that most disc herniations are oriented posteriorly.
Because the disc is fluid and cartillage it responds to gravitational
forces. If the disc is posterior and the patient is laying on their
back, gravity will pull the disc even further posteriorly.
2.
Our KDT Neuro-Flex has a quick wrap belting system
that is quick to apply and eliminates the requirements of the wing vest
application.
The DRX9000 belting system requires two sets of belts.
One wrapped over the top of the pelvis, and the other belting (wing
vest) around the upper part of the abdomen. The dual belting not only
is time consuming to properly apply to the patient, but it is also
constricting around the abdomen and can potentially be uncomfortable if a
patient just ate or is a deep abdominal breather.
3.
The KDT Neuro-Flex certification training teaches the doctors about effectively targeting the disc region by experience, not depending upon a faulty targeting
The DRX9000 vertebral level targeting system is faulty.
On the computer system of the DRX9000 the therapist can select a
vertebral level to target, and we have found that the target fails to
isolate any particular level, and depending on the patients "shape" the
natural spinal contouring curves are rarely ever effectively targeted by
a computer.
4.
The KDT Neuro-Flex Decompression Traction System is about 1/10th of the cost
of the DRX-9000. This allows for us to pass on savings to You, and you have no aggressive sales presentation.
The DRX9000 system was drastically overpriced.
This decompression system was marketed at $120,000.00. With this
enormous investment and lease payment the treatment costs had to recoup
much of the investment and in my opinion many patients were severely
overcharged. Patient treatment plans were generally in the $4000 -
$6000 range, as compared to the more reasonable treatment cost ranges of
under $2500 for more reasonably priced systems.
5.
The KDT Neuro-Flex Decompression Traction System applies a force pressure of 35% of total Body Weight or less.
The force pressure never exceeds 90 pounds. This has been proven over
thousands of patients to provide superior therapeutic results without
having an uncomfortable traction reaction as frequently happens to
DRX9000 patients.
The DRX9000 treatment protocol requires more force / pressure.
Their spinal decompression protocols recommended 50% of the total body
weight calculated by the DRX9000. This high force pull frequently led
to a "Traction Reaction" that required many DRX therapists to apply ice
for 10 minutes following each therapy session.
6.
The KDT Neuro-Flex table is fully capable of Directional Preference Positioning.
These features are essential for the quickest possible results. Proper
positioning can create appropriate mechanical pressures allowing for
fast centralization of the disc to occur with respect to the
gravitational forces.
The DRX9000 table is unable to achieve "directional preferences."
The injured disc may require specific positioning to relocate the
nucleus back within the cartillage chamber. Since the DRX9000 table is
only a flat bench type traction system, the patient is limited to being
positioned face up with the knees and hips flexed.
